AUSTRALIAN MIXED PAIRS COMPETITION 2022

Start date Sunday 1st May

This document relates to the arrangements and format for the TBBC Australian Mixed Pairs Competition.

ARRANGEMENTS 

Competition commences Sunday 1st May.

           Matches to be played in the period specified on the grid below

            i.e. Sun 1st May – Tues May 10th = Period 1 etc.

            A ‘Period’ is 10 days in order to fit in all the matches and leave a little

            wiggle room for those matches not played to the schedule. 

Scorecards will be available but must be retained by the person marking the score. No cards to be left at the Club or on the Site. 

Casual dress code. 

All results must be communicated to Andy Hastings: preferably to andy.hastings@sky.com or tel. 01983 760209 

League tables will be published. 

The high number of pairs enrolled in this competition has required the formation of two league groups, this was done by random number computer generation. 

The winners and runners-up of each group will play in a semi-final on a date to be agreed and the final will be played on the Club Competition Finals day(s) in September 2022

FORMAT OF PLAY

12 End Games

First End

Leads deliver two bowls each

The Leads then go to the head to direct the skips bowls

The skips go to the mat and deliver four bowls each

The skips then go to the head to direct the leads final two bowls

The Leads deliver their last two bowls.

Second End

Skips deliver two bowls each

The Skips then go to the head to direct the leads bowls

The Leads go to the mat and deliver four bowls each

The leads then go to the head to direct the Skips final two bowls

The Skips deliver their last two bowls.

Keep rotating the order of play for the balance of the ends.
